She is a fellow and member of many professional bodies, Institute of Chartered Chemist of Nigeria, Royal Society of Chemistry, UK, Chemical Society of Nigeria, Organisation for Women in Science for the Developing World, Italy, American Chemical Society, USA, Asian Council of Science Editors and so on. Her research interest includes Natural Product Chemistry Research, Synthetic Medicinal Chemistry, education and gender. She has over 80 published academic journals to her credit and is still actively engaged in many collaborative research activities. She has attended many workshops, leadership summit and conferences and delivered papers in different fields ranging from education, food, pharmaceutical, gender equality and Natural product chemistry research both locally and internationally serving as a resource person and the experiences she gains is transferred to students, increases her research output and community services. Several community programmes has been initiated by her to train youths and women to be self reliant.

Her work experience has spanned over the years having worked briefly as a Chemistry teacher during the compulsory National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) at Government College Ekori, in Cross Rivers State, Nigeria 1993-1994. In her professional career as a Scientist in STEMM, most Universities in developing counties do not have state of the art facility that can enable quality research. Knowledge and exposure she gained travelling to other countries for collaboration and conferences has assisted her in furtherance of her academic and research activities. She has credit in isolating new compounds which are new additions to metabolites in the chemistry of Natural Products. She has also synthesized new Mannich bases which are novel to the library of synthetic organic compounds. The leadership qualities, experiences, ability to connect and network with a wide range of individuals, from school children to PhD students, policymakers etc are qualities that made her to be nominated as Vice president (Africa) Organization for Women in Science for the developing World Italy, in 2021. In 2022, she was also nominated for the Linkage’s Women in Leadership Executive Impact Award and the Nature Research Awards for Inspiring Women in Science Award for Science (STEMM) Outreach amongst others.
