Bio

I am a Professor of Chemistry at the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh, and former Director of the University of Wisconsin System Women & Science Program. I have an AB in chemistry from Princeton University and a PhD in physical chemistry from Stanford University. My research interests include thermochemistry of non-covalent interactions, applications of materials chemistry in art, and implementation of active learning strategies. I am a member of the American Chemical Society (Divisions of Chemical Education and Physical Chemistry), participate in the POGIL community, and was also a participant in Project Kaleidoscope's Faculty for the 21st Century program. Ongoing Projects

Teaching principles of sustainability to non-science majors (including a textbook, The Chemistry of Materials and their Role in a Sustainable Society, published by Linus Learning).

I am Program Co-chair for the 2025 ACS Great Lakes Regional Meeting "Chemistry for a Better Planet" which will include presentations on green chemistry/sustainability.
