Zeyar Min
Head, Research Development and Consultancy
University Of Technology Jamaica
Bio
I have the pleasure of serving as the Head of Division for Research Development and Consultancy, as well as being a Lecturer in Advanced Physical Chemistry and Materials Chemistry at the University of Technology (UTech), Jamaica. I also serve as the coordinator for the General Chemistry 1 Laboratory Module, during which I have revised the Laboratory Manual and Curriculum, Student Lab Safety Guidelines and directed the production of a new Lab Safety Video. My interest in sustainability has also led me to explore greener laboratory practices. To address gaps in the local and regional educational landscape. My roles allow me to blend my passion for materials science with my skills in management.
My early research focus was largely centered on materials science and the design and synthesis of Hybrid Organic-Inorganic Frameworks. My interests have since expanded to the Blue Economy, and Water Systems and Management, specifically Non-Revenue Water and Water Loss as a strategic alignment towards mitigating local and regional challenges.
My teaching philosophy is oriented towards the specific needs and characteristics of Generation Z students. I have been constructively captivated by the incorporation of gamification elements, particularly feedback loops, into pedagogical frameworks. This nuanced approach not only fosters a more vibrant and engaged learning environment but also grants me the agility to adapt to the ever-evolving landscape of educational demands and aspirations.
