Learning Goals/Student Objectives
Educational Goals:
Students will understand...
- Measure the pH of solutions using a pH meter, pH paper, and/or litmus paper
- Categorize or group substances as acids, bases, or neutral, based on pH
- Determine the scope and limitations of natural pH indicators

Student Objectives:
Students will...
- Measure the pH of common household products using a pH meter, pH paper, litmus paper, and/or indicators
- Determine the pH ranges of the natural indicators (red cabbage juice, beet juice and blueberry juice)
- Collect qualitative experimental data and establish a natural indicator color chart for the household products
- Classify the household substances as acidic, basic, or neutral using natural indicators
- Analyze which natural indicator (red cabbage juice, beet juice, or blueberry juice) is the best for measuring the pH of various household products
