Bio

Sarah Boudreau (she/her) is a 4th year PhD Candidate in Chemistry at Memorial University of Newfoundland. She is supervised by Prof. Francesca Kerton and studies the valorization of Atlantic salmon processing wastes, specifically the bones, to achieve a circular economy and a more sustainable seafood industry. She was awarded an Ocean Graduate Excellence Network (OGEN) scholarship and works directly with the National Research Council of Canada (NRC). She's currently a Beyond Benign Ambassador for this year's Green Chemistry Connections and very recently started getting involved with the International Younger Chemists Network (IYCN). So far during her graduate studies, she's been engaged in promoting green chemistry and sustainability by co-organizing the university's 2024 Global Conversation on Sustainability Symposium, participating at the 2024 Green Chemistry Initiative (GCI) symposium hosted by the University of Toronto & McGill, and presenting at the 28th Green Chemistry & Engineering Conference in Atlanta, Georgia. She has also been involved with organizing the local IUPAC Global Women's Breakfasts at Memorial University of Newfoundland and Cape Breton University.
