Postdoctoral Positions Available – (1) Lignin Deconstruction Towards Biobased Small Molecules and (2) Synthesis and Characterization of Precision Biobased Polymers

Two postdoctoral positions are available in the group of Prof. Thomas Epps, III in the Department of Chemical & Biomolecular Engineering at the University of Delaware (UD). The positions involve a collaboration with the U.S. Army and allows the opportunity for both fundamental research and technology developments depending on the interests of the candidate. One position will focus on the deconstruction of various lignin-rich feedstocks to generate small-molecule phenolics.

Postdoctoral Researcher, High performance carbon materials, (3-year fixed-term employment)

Are you interested in novel biobased carbon material solutions in the fields of energy storage and looking for a postdoctoral opportunity in the field? Would you like to develop innovative technology with superb colleagues who are top experts in their field? Do you want to build an excellent science career and work at the interface of academy and industry?

Postdoctoral Fellow

The group of Prof. Dr. A. J. Minnaard (minnaardgroup.nl) is embedded in the Stratingh Institute for Chemistry, University of Groningen. The position focuses on the synthesis of novel carbohydrate-based surfactants and is for one year, with the possibility of extension. Candidates need either to be an EU citizen or to have a permanent residence permit for the Netherlands. The project comprises the innovative design and synthesis of surfactants, parallel (library) synthesis, and studies of the physicochemical properties of the produced surfactants.
