Faith Patrick-Inezi

Faith Sutu Patrick-Inezi is a distinguished industrial chemist, educator, and passionate advocate for green and sustainable chemistry in Nigeria. Currently a PhD Candidate in Industrial Chemistry at Ebonyi State University, Abakaliki, her doctoral research—under the supervision of Professors Sylvester O. Ngele and Oti Wilberforce—focuses on the in vivo evaluation, spectroscopic analysis, and molecular docking of indigenous botanicals like Curcumin longa, Hibiscus sibdariffa, and Sacoglottis gabonensis for cosmeceutical applications.
Since 2017, Faith has served as a Lecturer in the Department of Pure and Applied Chemistry at the University of Calabar, where she transitioned from Graduate Assistant to Assistant Lecturer, and most recently, to the rank of Lecturer II. Her academic portfolio includes teaching specialized courses such as Soaps, Detergents and Cosmetics, Polymer Science & Technology, and Carbohydrate Chemistry. Beyond the lecture hall, she is deeply committed to mentoring the next generation of scientists, coaching students in manuscript drafting, technical reporting, and grant writing.
As a prominent leader and advocate in the global chemical community, Faith holds the prestigious role of Faculty Advisor for both the American Chemical Society (ACS) and the Royal Society of Chemistry (RSC) International Student Chapters at the University of Calabar. She is the Founder of the RSC Student Chapter and Co-founder of the ACS Student Chapter, where she has spearheaded numerous outreach programs, including the "Young & Skillful Chemists" festival and the "Train the Trainers" initiative, aimed at empowering educators with skills in green chemistry and entrepreneurship.
Faith’s commitment to "Bringing Green Chemistry to Life" extends to community stewardship, where she leads market sensitization campaigns on waste management and environmental protection. Her leadership in promoting diversity is exemplified by her roles as the Chair of the ACS Women Chemists Committee (ACS-WCC) in Cross River State, and her active participation in the IUPAC Global Women’s Breakfast.

Her contributions have been recognized with several prestigious awards and grants, including the ACS Graduate Student and Postdoctoral Scholars Recognition (2025), the Green Sciences for Sustainable Development (GSSD) Foundation Scholarship for summer school in Italy (2023), and various travel and professional development grants from both the ACS and RSC. A prolific researcher, her work is published in international journals such as the Journal of Healthcare Analytics and the Journal of the Indian Chemical Society.
Faith remains dedicated to bridging the gap between the classroom and the community, fostering a "sustainable loop" of inspiration, empowerment, and environmental activation through the chemical sciences.
