Kristin Daws has worked at Ohio Northern University (ONU) for 26 years as the Director of Labs and Scientific Materials Manager. Her major duties include: 1) procuring supplies and equipment, 2) maintaining inventories of chemicals and supplies, 3) and monitoring the department's operational budget, 4) and hiring undergraduate lab assistants for the Donald J. Bettinger Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry. Kristin is a member of the ONU Safety Committee and also serves as ONU's Chemical Hygiene Officer.

Our department is working on incorporating green chemistry into our curriculum. Members of the department are also interested in revising academic labs so use more green solvents. Other members in the department are interested in developing methods to detect or mitigate microplastics and PFAS.
