Heterogeneous Catalysis

Project:

Combined heterogeneous catalytic, enzymatic, and chemo-enzymatic approach to convert an air pollutant into value-added bulk or specialty chemicals. Via an integrated and multidisciplinary strategy, we aim to simultaneously solve a specific environmental problem and to create chemical value.

Skills required:

Master level degree as a chemist, biochemist, bio-engineer, chemical engineer or equivalent (for the PhD position) or PhD in heterogeneous catalysis or biocatalysis (for the postdoctoral position)

Within this scope, BasCat - UniCat BASF JointLab investigates catalytic hydrogenation of plastic waste to enable a circular plastic economy. This project aims at the efficient use of green hydrogen for turning mixed plastic waste into a raw material for the chemical industry.
