Bio
Yiben Wang is a chemistry educator whose teaching focuses on creating engaging, student-centered learning experiences that connect chemistry to real-world issues and promote sustainability literacy. At Villanova University, he currently teaches General Chemistry, General, Organic, and Biological Chemistry (GOB) for nursing majors, and Chemistry of Water, a course designed for non-science majors. He earned his Ph.D. in Chemistry from the University of Delaware in 2017 and his B.S. in Chemistry from Virginia Commonwealth University in 2011. His current work includes redesigning the Chemistry of Water course to incorporate more case studies, green chemistry, and sustainability content; participating in an ACS Green Chemistry Institute Community of Practice focused on developing green chemistry modules; partnering with Beyond Benign to support the Professional Mentoring Network; and sharing teaching resources and materials through the GCTLC platform. His broader goal is to help students and educators engage with chemistry in ways that are relevant, interdisciplinary, and impactful.
